Bio

My inspiration is rooted in my transcendent experiences and memories of nature. I am particularly inspired by its forms, patterns, textures, colors and processes.

My work focuses on functional forms and predominantly in the making of expressive vases and planters. I am driven by my desire to create vessels that work to elevate the organic materials that they house in playful ways. Capturing a feeling of movement or an ephemeral moment in time within a form is a reoccurring theme in my work. I am fascinated with whimsical forms. For my work it is important that each piece is unique. Each one is an expression of that moment in time and my relationship to the clay. I love that hand building celebrates the human, creative building process.

My career as a florist inspires and informs the design of the vessels. I prefer to create arrangements in vessels that were grounded in natural forms and this is what started my journey into making pottery. The vessel is equally as important as the organic material in the arrangements. It is what creates a sense of place for the design. It is my philosophy that the most engaging floral arrangements have a symbiotic relationship and/ or have a dialogue with the vessel they are created within.

My ceramic work is iterative. The process of creating forms in ceramics is an continuous, multilayered exploration. As one idea starts to take shape it in variably inspires a new route of discovery. As a new direction unfolds I like to explore it repetitively to begin to understand the potential. My creative process is a constant negotiation between ideas being translated to tactile forms and then back to a conversation with ideas. It is limitless and it suits my curious mind.

I started working at the Guild in January of 2026. I am forever thankful for the community I have found and for the physical space to generate the work that flows from my mind through my hands and into the clay.
