50 Year Anniversary Holiday Show and Open House 2021: Starts 12/4

50th Anniversary Guild Holiday Show and Silent Auction

This is a special invitation to the 50th anniversary celebration of the Berkeley Potters Guild and our Annual Holiday Show! Beginning Saturday, December 4th, continuing every weekend and weekdays prior to Christmas, 15 Guild members will have exciting new work on display. We are also thrilled to be offering a SILENT AUCTION this year as part of the festivities.

Stroll through our spacious building listening to live music while searching for the perfect gift for your loved ones. Recipients will be honored to receive a piece of mindfully made pottery to use in their daily lives. Visit our Gallery exhibition, “Our Best Work”, for which each member has showcased a fine piece, ear marking in clay the personality of each. Meet Guild members in their private studios, converted into exquisite, miniature galleries for this event.

Greeting the eye as one wanders the labyrinth of studios: delicate porcelain teapots, delicious chocolate brown tableware, whimsical, contemporary clay figures, beautiful ceramic jewelry, colorful clay prints, mix and match retro pottery, rich speckled stoneware cups and bowls. Some surprises too! Elegantly creative, natural fiber wearables, slumped glass dishes, Sumi-e paintings, knitwear, totes, artistic greeting cards, and ornaments!
Come to the Guild to say hello, celebrate our shared passion for clay, peruse the silent auction, and please do buy handmade for the holidays this year.

We are also hosting a silent auction of each participating artists work. The proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to an organization called CERF+. If you don’t know CERF+ as an organization, please click the link to learn more about them. They are the Craft Emergency Relief Fund and they offer grants and donations to artists and craftspeople of all disciplines when disaster and catastrophe strikes. As you can imagine during a year with California wildfires and COVID-19, the relief they provide to our California friends with devastating setbacks are essential to keeping artists businesses alive.

Also, we have taken your opinions very seriously and will offer a second register station on the busy first two days of the sale, along with extra help of people in the building to answer questions.

Happy Holidays to all of our lovely art patrons and supporters! Best wishes always for a happy and safe holiday.
